MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (7-5, 2-2 NEAC) fell in a cross divisional matchup to Morrisville State, 89-78 on Saturday afternoon.
After the Eagles knocked down two-straight three pointers to open the game, the Mustangs scored the next 19 points over a seven-minute span to open up a 19-6 lead. The Mustangs lead for double-digits for the majority of the second half before the Eagles used an 8-0 run with two minutes remaining in the half to get within five.
CSE tightened up its defense over the final few minutes, keeping the deficit under 10 as Morrisville took a 44-36 lead into the halftime break.Â
Trailing 47-36 to begin the second half, the Eagles ran off a 14-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 51-50 lead, its first since the beginning of the first half. With Morrisville leading 54-52, the Mustangs used a 14-2 run of its own with 8:50 remaining to regain a 14-point lead. Despite trailing by as much as 19, the Eagles came back to get within 10 with 1:30 remaining, but could not come any closer, falling by 11.
Shaquan Mickens led the Eagles with 12 points and five rebounds.Â

The Eagles look to rebound on Sunday when it hosts Cazenovia College at 2 pm.
