BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's soccer team (1-1, 0-0 NEAC) earned its first victory of the season, defeating Pratt Institute 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
After Pratt opened with the first goal of the match at the 15:00 mark, the Eagles got it right back 10 minutes later as
Garrett Valentino put home his first goal as an Eagle to square the game at one. Â With just under three minutes remaining in the first half,
Nick Riggio scored his second goal of the season off an assist from
Luis Salazar to give the Eagles a 2-1 halftime lead.
With two minutes remaining in the contest, Riggio put home his second goal of the game off a penalty kick rebound to give the Eagles the 3-1 victory.
In the win,
Brian Hernandez earned his first career win in net, finishing the match with five saves.
