MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's tennis team (1-9, 0-5 NEAC) defeated the College of New Rochelle 9-0 for its first win of the season on Senior Day.
The doubles team of
Gissel Escalante and
Kassandra Ortiz dominated in the first spot, winning 8-0. Â
Simone Robinson and
Eucarys Vizcaino won their first doubles match of the season, winning 8-3 in the second spot.
Escalante, Ortiz, and
Debra Pacheco were impressive in their singles matches, each winning 6-0, 6-0. Â
Janice Delgadillo won her first match of the season at the third singles, 6-1, 6-0. Â
Quawntashea Bailey capped off the sweep for the Eagles, winning and fifth singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Before the match, Ortiz was honored as the lone senior on the team. Â She was presented with flowers for her dedication to the program throughout her career.
