COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (7-13, 3-9 NEAC) used a second half surge to defeat SUNY Cobleskill, 90-80 on Sunday afternoon.
Jason Saldiveri finished with a game high 27 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Â
Cam Tucker added 16 points and four rebounds while
Jemar Jordan finished with 10 points.Â
After back and forth action to open up the game, the Eagles used an 8-2 run to take a 19-12 lead seven minutes in.  Despite the Eagles extending the lead to eight, Cobleskill fought back to tie the game at 29 with six minutes remaining in the half.  Both teams traded baskets over the remainder of the half as Cobleskill took a 40-39 lead into halftime.Â
The Eagles came out of the gate hot to begin the second half, using a 12-1 run to take its largest lead of the game at 58-49.  Cobleskill trimmed the lead to four with 11 minutes remaining, however the Eagles pushed the lead back to 10 over the next five minutes.  Leading 78-74 with 3:11 remaining in regulation, the Eagles defense beared down, holding Cobleskill to one point over the next two minutes while scoring eight to take a commanding 86-75 lead.  CSE would not allow Cobleskill to get any closer than eight before taking the game, 90-80.
The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when it hosts Penn State Abington at 5 pm.
