MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's volleyball team (2-6, 0-0 NEAC) dropped a pair of matches in its home opener, 3-2 to Medgar Evers and 3-0 to John Jay on Saturday afternoon.
In the first match of the day, the Eagles fell to Medgar Evers, 3-2 (25-15, 25-12, 17-25, 21-25, 4-15).Â
Josh Ramos led the Eagles with a game high 15 kills, 10 digs and nine service aces.Â
Chino Singalivo finished with 25 assists and seven digs while
Emmanuel Adam had five kills and three blocks.
The Eagles came out strong in the first two sets, using a 12-3 run late in the set to take the first set by 10. The Eagles continued to dominate in the second set, using a 7-0 run to take a 20-10 lead, and did not look back, taking the second set by 13. After Medgar Evers came back to win the third and fourth sets, the Eagles could not get any momentum going in the tie-breaking set, falling 15-4.
The second match of the day featured John Jay and Medgar Evers, which was won by John Jay, 3-0.
In the final match of the day, the Eagles fell to John Jay, 3-0 (12-25, 11-25, 11-25).Â
Justin Millan led the Eagles with five kills and a block. Singalivo added nine assists and three digs while Ramos finished with four kills.
CSE returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to NJCU for a 7 pm start.
