MORRISTOWN, N.J.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (8-16, 4-12 NEAC) fell in the season finale to Wilson College, 89-73 on Saturday afternoon.
Cam Tucker paced the Eagles with 23 points and four steals.Â
Jason Saldiveri finished with 20 and nine rebounds while
Michael Manso added eight points in his final game as an Eagle.
Both teams played a fast paced first half before Wilson took a 13-4 lead four minutes in. Over the next two minutes, the Eagles came back by scoring seven of the next nine points to get within four. After Wilson upped the lead to 10, the Eagles used a 9-0 run to slice the deficit to 27-26 with 8:30 remaining in the half. Despite getting within one, Wilson controlled the remainder of the half, taking a 45-40 lead into the break.
Three minutes into the second half, Wilson opened up its largest lead of the game at 13. Trailing 59-46, the Eagles scored the next seven points to get back within six. The Phoenix regained a double-digit mark with 12 minutes remaining and controlled the remainder of the game, taking the contest 89-73.Â
Before the game, junior
Michael Manso was honored as the soon to be first graduate in the men's basketball program history. Manso was presented with a framed picture and signed ball from the team for his dedication and hard work over the past two seasons.
The Eagles finish the season with eight wins, one more than last year and a new program high.
