Eagles Back in Win Column With 96-76 Victory Over Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, P.A. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's basketball team (6-2, 1-1 NEAC) snapped its two-game losing streak with a dominating 96-76 victory at Bryn Athyn on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles came out strong in the first half, knocking down two straight three-pointers to take an early 8-1 lead.  After Bryn Athyn got within three, the Eagles used a 7-0 run to gain a 22-12 advantage, it's largest of the game.  Over the remainder of the half, Bryn Athyn wouldn't get closer than four, before the Eagles ended the half on a 10-3 run to take a 42-29 lead into the break. 

Fresh off a 16 point first half, Ted Thelemaque scored the first five points of the second half to give the Eagles a 47-29 lead, its largest of the game.  Following a mini run by the lions to cut the deficit to 12, the Eagles scored six straight points to regain an 18 point advantage.  Over the final seven minutes of the contest, the Eagles would build as big as a 88-62 lead before winning by 20.

Thelemaque led the way with a game high 23 points while Jason Saldiveri added 14 points and five rebounds.  A balanced offense saw 16 Eagles land in the scoring column.

CSE returns to action for its final game of 2018 on Tuesday when it hosts Kean University at 7 pm.
