MORRISTOWN, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's women's basketball team (7-10, 4-5 NEAC) ran by the Lions from Bryn Athyn for its third straight conference win, 65-46 on Tuesday evening.
Deja Ingram once again dominated down low, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds, nine blocks, and five steals. Â
Kamille Jacobs finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while
Kamani Williams added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Following an early five-point lead for the Lions, the Eagles came back on a dominating 12-0 run to take a 17-10 lead. Â The Lions managed to go on a 7-2 run to get within two, before
Rakiyah Sellers and
Damaris King nailed three-pointers to up the lead to eight. Â CSE continued to pour it on, holding the Lions scoreless over a 6:54 span, while scoring 19 straight points to blow the game open at 38-17.Â
CSE continued to dominate in the second half, scoring nine of the first 11 points to take a 48-22 advantage. Â The Eagles continued to not let the Lions claw its way back into the game, taking a 52-29 lead into the final 10 minutes. Â In the final quarter, the Eagles would not allow the Lions to get within 14 before taking the game, 65-46.
The Eagles defense was suffocating all game, forcing 26 turnovers. Â CSE also dominated points off turnovers, out scoring Bryn Athyn 36-6.
CSE returns action on Saturday when it takes on Gallaudet University at 3 pm.
