Eagles Edged by Highlanders

Morristown, N.J. - The College of Saint Elizabeth's men's soccer team (0-3-1, 0-0 NEAC) fell in a non-conference matchup to Cairn University, 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Just three minutes into the first half, the Highlanders put home the first goal of the game off a rebound to take a 1-0 lead. The Highlanders tacked on two more goals in the half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. Jason Pineda finished with nine saves in net for the Eagles in the half.

CSe started out the second half with a great look on goal as Raul Galindo Rojas ripped a shot from the 18, but it was saved away by Cairn. With 38 minutes remaining in the game, Tyron Odom put home his first goal of the season off an assist from Galindo Rojas, getting the Eagles within 3-1. The Highlanders added five more goals in the final 30 minutes to take the game, 8-1.

CSE returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Penn State Berks for its first conference game of the season.
