Sharolin Sanders scored a career high 24 points as the College of Saint Elizabeth's basketball team (10-15, 10-10 NEAC) fell in the final game of the season, 85-82 at Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon.
Sanders had a phenomenal game for the Eagles, scoring 24 points on 11-16 shooting from the field. Sanders knocked down two three-pointers while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. Sanders also added a block and steal in her final game as an Eagle.
Amerisse Rogers also had a solid game for the Eagles. Rogers finished with 12 points on 4-10 shooting from the field. Rogers also knocked down two three-pointers, snatched five rebounds, and dished out two dimes in her final game in a CSE uniform.
Ashley Pledger finished her career as an Eagle doing what she does best, scoring 15 points including knocking down three, three-pointers. Pledger also added a team high six assists, grabbed four rebounds and had four steals. Pledger finishes her career second on the Eagles all-time scoring list, ending with 1,406 points.
Danesha Triplett chipped in with a double-double finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Deja Ingram added 11 points for the Eagles while
Jasmine Pooled added six points and four assists.
As a whole, the Eagles bench played well, outscoring the Nittany Lions 14-2. CSE also had more points in the paint, 34-28, second chance points, 20-9, shot 90% from the free throw line, while only having 12 turnovers. The Eagles also managed a stellar 19 assists for the game and five blocked shots.
The Eagles finish the season with a 10-15 record overall and 10-10 in the NEAC. The .500 NEAC record puts them in 5th place in the south division, just missing the conference tournament.Â
