Abington, P.A.- The College of Saint Elizabeth's lacrosse team (0-2, 0-1 NEAC) dropped their first conference game to Penn State Abington, 18-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions got on the board early, scoring 3 goals in the first 5 minutes.
Ashley Morera scored her second goal of the season at the 23:09 mark to get the Eagles to within 3-1. Abington would follow up with 4 straight goals to take a 7-1 lead over the Eagles. Abington would end up adding 5 more goals before the break to take a 12-1 lead into halftime.
The Eagles offense improved in the second half as
Kiana Cunningham scored her first 2 career goals to get the Eagles to within 13-3. Morera and
Riley Hosey added their first career assists on the Cunningham goals. Abington would add 2 goals in the next 5 minutes to take a 15-3 lead with 12 minutes remaining in the game. The Nittany Lions would add 3 more goals and take the contest 18-3.
Kiana Cunningham scored her first 2 career goals for the Eagles.
Ashley Morera and
Riley Hosey added their first career assists.
Sarah Briant finished with 9 saves in net for CSE.
The Eagles return to action this weekend when they travel to Keuka College for a 1 pm start on Saturday afternoon.
