Marquetta Dickens was hired in July of 2017 to assume the role as Head Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics. As Assistant AD, Dickens will be responsible for team travel and academics, as well as serve as the SAAC Coordinator.

In her first season as head coach, Dickens led the team to eight wins and five wins in the conference.  Dickens coached junior Deja Ingram who scored her 1,000th career point on February 7, 2018 against Penn State Abington.

Dickens comes to CSE from the Community College of Philadelphia where she was the head women's basketball coach last season. Prior to her stint at C.C. of Philadelphia, Dickens was an assistant coach for four seasons at Division I Monmouth University. During her four seasons at Monmouth, Dickens helped guide the Hawks to a Northeastern Conference Tournament Championship Game. Throughout her first four years at Monmouth, Dickens helped in the development of five all-conference honorees, including two in Monmouth’s first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Dickens also served as the Academic Coordinator and an adjunct professor at Monmouth. 

In 2014, while at Monmouth, Dickens was selected to attend the NCAA Women's Coaches Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.  Before working at Monmouth, Dickens spent two seasons at North Carolina Central University. Off the court, Dickens has spent the last two years working as a psychotherapist at the Counseling Center at Heritage in Philadelphia. 

Dickens is a 2007 graduate from North Carolina State where she was a four-year starter on the basketball team. During her senior season, she helped lead the Wolfpack to a Sweet Sixteen birth. Over her career, Dickens scored 989 points and grabbed over 500 rebounds. Following her graduation, Dickens received several WNBA tryouts before starting her professional career in Europe. Dickens played in Rybnik, Poland, where she was second on the team in scoring and first in assists. The following year, Dickens played in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal, where she led the CD Povoa/Monte Adriano team in points, assists, and steals.

While coaching at Monmouth, Dickens earned her Masters in Student Affairs and School Counseling. A native of Tarboro, N.C., Dickens graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business. Dickens currently resides in Lansdale, Pa. with her wife, Turcois Vazquez and niece, Israel Thorton.  Â
